Everyday jewellery care

Made to be worn. Worth looking after.

Fine jewellery can belong to everyday life. A few quiet habits help protect its finish, settings and stones for the years ahead.

Remove

Before impact.

Take jewellery off for the gym, gardening, swimming and hands-on work.

Clean

Gently.

Begin with a soft cloth and a mild, jewellery-safe clean.

Store

Separately.

Use a soft pouch or lined compartment to prevent rubbing.

Watch the setting

Small changes deserve attention.

If a stone moves, catches unexpectedly or makes a sound in its setting, stop wearing the piece and have it assessed by a local jeweller before wearing it again.

At-home cleaning

Gentle is the safest place to begin.

A soft brush, mild soap and lukewarm water can suit many durable diamond and gold pieces, followed by careful rinsing and drying. Delicate gemstones and complex settings may need specialist advice. Avoid abrasive products and do not assume ultrasonic or steam cleaning is safe for every piece.
